NEWBURGH – It’s “Back to the Future” to kick off the new outdoor film series on the lawn of Washington’s Headquarters State Historic Site. The cult-classic will be shown 8:30 p.m. June 24. It’s the first in a last Saturday of the month series free to the community running through September.

Organizers, including chef Michael Kelly of Newburgh Bistro, dubbed this the Liberty Street Film Series. They worked with Orange County Arts Council, as well as the City, to make it a reality.

“The past four years have seen a tide change in this neighborhood with the resurgence of restaurants, retail and commercial real estate,” said Kelly. “We think we are on the forefront of real change and impact in this once-great city.” They’re looking for sponsors and supporters for the series, that makes use of “a beautiful landscape and setting, while bringing the Newburgh community together.” Contact Kelly at Michael@amkrg.com.
